BEST OUT OF WASTE WORKSHOP
A Workshop on “Best Out of Waste” was organized by Fine art club of CT College of Education on Feb. 14, 2026 to promote creativity, environmental awareness, and the concept of recycling among students. Resource person of the event was Ms. Navdeep Kaur, Fevicryl Certified Expert. She guided the participants on innovative techniques to make eco-friendly crafts and emphasized the significance of minimizing waste generation. Participants enthusiastically took part in hands-on activities where they crafted beautiful items such as flower pots, pen stands, wall hangings, and models using old newspapers, plastic bottles, cardboard, and other recyclable materials. The workshop not only showcased students’ creativity but also instilled a sense of responsibility toward environmental conservation.
LOHRI CELEBRATION
CT College of Education, Maqsudan celebrated Lohri with great enthusiasm on Jan. 13, 2026. The event was graced by the presence of the Dr. Anurag Sharma, Director CTGI Maqsudan Campus, Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal, CT College of Education and Ms. Manisha Basnet, Principal, CT Public School. Director Sir addressed the gathering and highlighted the cultural significance of Lohri as a festival marking the end of winter and the harvest season. A traditional bonfire was lit, around which students and faculty members gathered to offer sesame seeds, jaggery, and popcorn, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. The venue was beautifully decorated, including a Sada Pind corner that showcased a traditional Punjabi village setup, giving attendees a feel of authentic rural celebrations. The program featured energetic cultural performances, folk songs depicting the legend of Lohri, showcasing the students’ talents and cultural awareness. Attendees also enjoyed traditional treats such as til laddoo, rewri, and peanuts, adding to the festive spirit. Group dances around the bonfire encouraged participation and camaraderie among students and staff. Everyone enjoyed the event.
Shri Sukhmani Sahib Ji Path
CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan organized Shri Sukhmani Sahib Ji Path to commemorate the 350th Year of Martyrdom of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji on November 20, 2025 at college premises. The Path commenced in the multipurpose hall, where students, faculty members, and staff gathered to participate in the sacred recitation. The atmosphere was deeply serene as devotees participated with devotion and reverence. After the completion of the Path, Ardas was offered to pray for the overall well-being, academic success, and bright future of all students. The program concluded with the distribution of Karah Prasad, followed by Langar, served by student volunteers and faculty members. The Shri Sukhmani Sahib Ji Path proved to be a meaningful initiative, encouraging students to remain connected with their cultural and spiritual roots while pursuing academic excellence.
STATE LEVEL COMPETITION (POSTER MAKING & SLOGAN WRITING) OF RED RIBBON CLUBS
NSS Cell and red Ribbon Club of CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan in collaboration with Punjab State AIDS Control Society & Youth Welfare Department, Jalandhar organized State Level Competitions of Red Ribbon Clubs on Poster Making & Slogan Writing, Seminar and Rally on November 11, 2025. Participants from various colleges took part with great enthusiasm, showcasing their artistic talent and social sensitivity. The posters reflected strong messages of awareness, empathy, and responsibility, while the slogans emphasized the importance of safe practices, early testing, and ending discrimination against people living with HIV/AIDS. The winners were awarded certificates and prizes for their outstanding efforts. Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal, CT College of Education proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty and students for making the event grand success.
10TH AYURVEDA DAY CELEBRATION
NSS Cell of CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar in collaboration with District Ayurvedic & Unani Office, Jalandhar proudly celebrated the 10th Ayurveda Day by organizing Plantation Ceremony and Interactive Session on theme “Ayurveda for People and Planet,” on September 23, 2025. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest Mrs. Navdeep Kaur, Addl. Deputy Commissioner (Div.) Jalandhar, who appreciated the efforts of the institution in promoting Ayurveda and its relevance in contemporary health practices. The celebrations commenced with the auspicious Dhanvantari Poojan, invoking blessings for health and healing. An Ayurvedic medicine exhibition was organized, showcasing traditional formulations, medicinal plants, and herbal products to raise awareness about holistic health and wellness. The celebration witnessed the presence of Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal, CT College of Education, various eminent doctors, faculty members, and students, who actively participated in the program. Doctors delivered insightful presentations on different aspects of Ayurveda, highlighting its prevention, and curative approaches.
AAGAZ 2025
CT College of Education organized “AAGAZ 2025” on 22nd September 2025 in the Multipurpose Hall to welcome the newly admitted B.Ed. students. The event aimed to familiarize the students with the college environment, academic structure, and various activities conducted throughout the session. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by the Principal, who greeted the new students and introduced the faculty members and staff. She encouraged the students to pursue their teacher education journey with dedication and enthusiasm. The programme proved to be an enriching start for the students, helping them feel connected, motivated, and confident about their new academic journey.
WORKSHOP ON ART & CRAFT
CT College of Education organized a Workshop on Art & Craft on 16th September 2025 to enhance the creative skills of students and promote hands-on learning. The workshop provided students with practical exposure to various art and craft techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors. Participants actively engaged in creating innovative projects, which fostered creativity, concentration, and aesthetic sense. The programme was well-received by the students and staff, highlighting the importance of integrating artistic skills into education for overall personality development. The workshop concluded successfully, leaving students motivated to explore and apply their creativity in future activities.
HINDI DIWAS
CT College of Education celebrated Hindi Diwas on 13th September 2025 to honor the significance of the Hindi language and promote its use among students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who presented poems, speeches, and skits highlighting the richness and cultural heritage of Hindi. Faculty members also addressed the importance of preserving and promoting the national language in academic and social contexts. The programme successfully fostered awareness, pride, and interest in the Hindi language among students and staff.
INTERACTIVE SESSION ON BLOOM TAXONOMY: INTERACTIVE PATHWAYS TO KNOWLEDGE
CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan, organized an Interactive Session on Bloom’s Taxonomy: Interactive Pathways to Knowledge for all faculty members on September 13, 2025. The session was conducted by the Principal of the college with the aim of enhancing the teaching and assessment skills of the staff. During the session, the Principal Mam explained the principles of Bloom’s Taxonomy and demonstrated how to design questions and assessments aligned with its hierarchical levels of learning—knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. Faculty members actively engaged in discussions and practical exercises to understand the effective preparation of questions according to Bloom’s framework. The session was highly informative and practical, providing faculty members with valuable strategies to improve teaching quality, assessment design, and student learning outcomes.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
CT College of Education celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor on 14th August, 2025 in the college premises. The event began with the hoisting of the National Flag by the Principal, followed by the singing of the National Anthem which filled the atmosphere with pride and respect for our motherland. The program included a series of cultural performances, such as patriotic songs, speeches, poems, and dance performances by the students. These performances reflected the unity and diversity of our nation and showcased the students’ creativity and enthusiasm. Overall, the Independence Day celebration at CT College of Education was a tribute to the nation and its heroes, fostering a spirit of patriotism and unity among everyone present.
VISIT TO SLUM AREA AND BEST INFRASTRUCTURE SCHOOL
B.Ed. Sem. III students of CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar visited Government Girls Smart High School, Gandhi Camp, Jalandhar August 08, 2025. The primary focus was to assess the school’s infrastructure and how it supports both academic and extracurricular activities. The classrooms are spacious, well-lit, and equipped with modern teaching tools, including smartboards and projectors. The school also has dedicated science and computer laboratories. In addition to academic spaces, the school boasts impressive sports facilities. The library is stocked with a diverse range of books and digital resources, encouraging students to explore a wide variety of topics outside the classroom.
CAMPUS CLEANLINESS DRIVE
NSS Cell of CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan organized a Campus Cleanliness Drive on 6th August 2025 under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative. The main objective of the drive was to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental awareness among students and staff members. Students actively participated in the drive with great enthusiasm and dedication. The event not only helped beautify the college campus but also instilled a sense of responsibility, discipline, and teamwork among the students. The Principal appreciated the efforts of all participants and encouraged them to continue contributing to cleanliness and sustainability in their daily lives.
ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS ACTIVITY
On 5th August 2025, NSS Cell of CT College of Education organized a Road Safety Awareness Activity aimed at educating students about the importance of road safety and the necessary precautions to ensure their safety while on the road. The event involved students actively participating in a road safety awareness campaign, where they took to the Maqsudan Chowk under the guidance of traffic police officers. A team of experienced traffic police officers explaining essential road safety rules, including the importance of obeying traffic signals, wearing seat belts, using helmets while riding two-wheelers, and maintaining safe driving speeds. This initiative reflects the college’s commitment to student well-being and its dedication to educating young people on essential life skills for a safer future.
VISIT TO APAHAJ ASHRAM
NSS Cell and Red Ribbon Club of CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan organized a visit to Apahaj Ashram on 4 August,2025 as part of their community service and value education program. The visit aimed to sensitize student-teachers towards the needs of differently-abled individuals and to promote the values of empathy, care, and social responsibility. The student-teachers interacted with the residents and they also distributed fruits, snacks, and essential items as a token of love and care. Overall, the visit to Apahaj Ashram was heartwarming experience, instilling values of humanity, empathy, and social awareness among the students.
POSTER MAKING AND SLOGAN WRITING ACTIVITY ON ANTI RAGGING DAY
CT College of Education observed Anti-Ragging Day on 2nd August 2025 with great enthusiasm and awareness-building spirit. To mark the occasion, a Poster Making and Slogan Writing Activity was organized by the college to sensitize students about the harmful effects of ragging and to promote a culture of respect, empathy, and harmony within the campus. The activity encouraged students to spread awareness about maintaining a ragging-free and friendly environment in the college. GO GREEN TREE PLANTATION ACTIVITY
NSS Cell of CT College of Education organized Go Green Tree Plantation Drive on 31st July 2025 in its campus with the active participation of both faculty and students. The event aimed to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of trees in combating climate change. A total of 150 saplings were planted, including species such as Neem, Peepal, Mango and Guava, chosen for their ecological benefits. This initiative is part of the college’s commitment to fostering a greener environment and encouraging sustainable practices among students and staff.
Pot Painting and Bottle Making Activity
CT College of Education organized a Pot Painting and Bottle Making Activity on 29th July 2025 aimed at promoting waste management awareness and enhancing creativity among students. The event encouraged participants to recycle everyday waste materials into beautiful, functional art pieces. The event fostered not only creativity but also a deeper understanding of the value of recycling and waste reduction. Participants left with a sense of accomplishment, proud of their innovative creations, inspired to incorporate sustainability into their daily lives.
ONLINE WORKSHOP ON MICRO TEACHING SKILLS
On August 5, 2025, an insightful online workshop on Micro Teaching Skills was conducted at CT College of Education. Ms. Kanika. Assistant Professor, Sai College of Education, Sardulapur, Hoshiarpur was the resource person. During the workshop, Ms. Kanika introduced the concept of micro-teaching, explaining its importance as a technique for enhancing teaching skills in a controlled, focused environment. She also demonstrated the various "micro-skills" involved in effective teaching, such as questioning techniques, using body language to communicate etc. She discussed how these micro-skills can be practiced separately, enabling teachers to hone specific aspects of their teaching before applying them in a real classroom setting.
ONLINE WORKSHOP ON MICRO TEACHING SKILLS
An online workshop on Micro Teaching Skills was held on 6th August, 2025 at CT College of Education. Dr. Sarabjeet, Assistant Professor, Sai College of Education, Sardulapur, Hoshiarpur was the resource person. The session focused on refining key teaching techniques essential for effective classroom delivery. Dr. Sarabjeet discussed six core skills: introducing lessons, questioning, stimulus variation, explanation, blackboard reinforcement, and demonstration. This session provided valuable tools for enhancing teaching skills, fostering a more engaging and interactive classroom environment.
DEMONSTRATION MODEL LESSON ACTIVITY
On 26th June 2025, CT College of Education organized a Demonstration Model Lesson Activity for students, where faculty members showcased their subject mastery by delivering well-structured lesson plans. The event aimed to provide students with a practical learning experience and help them understand the intricacies of effective lesson delivery. Teachers presented model lessons in their respective subjects, demonstrating best practices in lesson planning, content delivery, classroom management, and student engagement. Faculty members used a variety of teaching aids, including multimedia presentations, charts, and hands-on activities, to enhance the learning experience for students.
WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Eco club of CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized Tree Plantation Drive to observed World Environment Day on June 05, 2025. To mark the occasion, the college organized a tree plantation drive on the campus under the theme “Land Restoration, Desertification, and Drought Resilience.” Principal along with faculty members and students actively participated in the drive, showing great enthusiasm and commitment toward creating a cleaner and greener environment. A variety of saplings, including neem, mango, and gulmohar, were planted in and around the campus to promote greenery and raise awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING
On April 11, 2025, CT College of Education, Maqsudan, hosted a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) to foster communication between parents and teachers, provide updates on students' progress, and discuss ways to enhance the educational experience. The meeting was attended by a significant number of parents, teachers, and administrative staff, reflecting the strong commitment of the college community to the students' holistic development. The PTM began with a welcome address by the Principal, who emphasized the importance of parent-teacher collaboration in achieving educational success. This was followed by a presentation on the academic performance of students, highlighting key achievements and areas where additional efforts were needed. It was a successful event that achieved its objectives and fostered a stronger partnership between parents and teachers. The collaborative efforts discussed during the meeting are expected to positively impact students' academic and social development in the coming months.
SEMINAR ON DRUG DE-ADDICTION
NSS Cell of CT Group of Institutions, North Campus, Maqsudan in collaboration with the Punjab Government’s campaign ‘War Against Drugs – Yudh Nasheyan De Virudh,’ organised a seminar on Drug De-addiction with the Police Commissionerate Jalandhar, District Administration Jalandhar, and Dishadeep NGO on March 31, 2025. The main objective of the seminar was to provide insight to the students about the seriousness of drug addiction. Keynote Speakers, including Mr. Rishabh Bhola, Assistant Superintendent of Police (IPS Officer), Dr. Benu, Psychologist from Drug De-addiction Centre, Civil Hospital and Lion SM Singh from Dishadeep NGO, shared insights on drug de-addiction awareness, drug addiction consequences, rehabilitation, treatment and legal aspects.
SEMINAR ON WHY ARE THE ROOTS OF HATE AND WHAT CAN WE DO TO TACKLE IT ?
CT College of education organized a thought-provoking seminar on the theme “Why Are the Roots of Hate and What Can We Do to Tackle It?” on March 26, 2025. The event aimed to explore the underlying causes of hatred in society and to discuss practical ways to promote peace, empathy, and understanding among individuals. Dr. Gurnam Singh, Associate Professor of Sociology (HON), University of Warwick, UK was the resource person for the same. He delivered an insightful presentation on how prejudice, fear, and misinformation contribute to hate, and emphasized the role of education and dialogue in overcoming such challenges. Participants, including students, faculty members engaged in meaningful discussions on themes such as tolerance, inclusion, emotional intelligence, and the power of communication in building harmonious communities.
MARTYR’S DAY (TURBAN TYING & POSTER MAKING COMPETITION)
CT College of Education observed Martyr’s Day on March 21, 2025 with deep reverence and patriotic fervor. To pay tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation, the institution organized a Turban Tying Competition and a Poster Making Competition. In the Turban Tying Competition, participants displayed their artistry and respect for the traditional symbol of valor and honor. The colorful turbans represented unity in diversity and paid homage to the spirit of the martyrs. The Poster Making Competition witnessed students expressing their patriotic sentiments through vibrant artwork and thoughtful messages that conveyed themes of courage, sacrifice, and love for the motherland.
M.Ed. SYNOPSIS PRESENTATION
Research and Innovation Cell of CT College of Education organized the M.Ed. Synopsis Presentation on March 18, 2025. The event marked an important academic milestone for postgraduate students pursuing the Master of Education (M.Ed.) program. All M.Ed. students presented their research synopses before a panel of experts. The presentation aimed to evaluate the feasibility, relevance, and research design of the proposed studies, ensuring high academic standards and research quality. Faculty members, research scholars, and students actively participated in the session and shared constructive feedback.
INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION
CT College of Education celebrated International Women’s Day on March 08, 2025. Day started with Yoga Session. Ms. Sarita Malhotra, Yoga Instructor was the resource person for the yoga session. The session focused on physical fitness, mental relaxation, and stress management, emphasizing the importance of health and self-care for women. Students and staff actively performed yoga postures and breathing exercises that encouraged balance and mindfulness. After the yoga session, a formal program was held in the multi-purpose hall. Students presented cultural performances, speeches and poems celebrating womanhood and gender equality. The celebration left everyone inspired to work toward building a society where women and men share equal dignity and opportunity.
WORKSHOP ON RESUME WRITING
A Workshop on Resume Writing was conducted by Placement Cell of CT College of Education on Feb. 25, 2025 to equip students with the skills required to create professional and effective resumes. The session was led by Mr. Rishab Sharma, Deputy Director, HRDC, CT University who guided participants on the key components of a resume, including layout, formatting, and the importance of tailoring resumes for different roles. Students were also briefed on common mistakes to avoid and the significance of highlighting relevant skills, experiences, and achievements. Interactive discussions and practical exercises helped participants draft and refine their resumes during the session. The session was highly informative and beneficial, leaving students more confident and well-prepared to enter the professional world.

INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY
Literary Club of CT College of Education celebrated International Mother Language Day on February 23, 2025, with great enthusiasm and cultural pride. The event aimed to promote linguistic and cultural diversity, encourage the preservation of mother tongues, and foster respect for all languages spoken across the world. A variety of cultural performances were presented by students, including songs, poems in different regional and local languages, showcasing India’s rich linguistic heritage. Poster making competition was also organized on this day and students enthusiastically participated in this.
HEALTH TALK ON WOMEN CANCER AWARENESS
A Health Talk on Women Cancer Awareness was organized by CT College of Education on Feb. 04, 2025 as part of its ongoing health education initiatives. The session aimed at educating students and faculty about the importance of early detection and prevention of cancers affecting women. The resource person for the same was Dr. Pooja Kiran, who highlighted common types of cancers such as breast, cervical, and ovarian cancer, their risk factors, and the significance of regular screenings and self-examinations. The talk included interactive discussions, informative presentations, and practical tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to reduce cancer risk. The attendees actively participated by asking questions and sharing experiences, making the session engaging and informative.
BASANT CELEBRATION
CCA committee of CT College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchmi on Jan. 31, 2025 with full vivacity. Campus was decorated with kites. Program started by seeking blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Taniya Bali, student of M.Ed. 2nd semester recited poem on the importance of Basant Panchami and the historical background of this festival. Students presented poem recitation, singing, skit. Student participated made the event luminous and scintillating with their Bhangra and vibrant performances. Dr. Geetika, HOD congratulated everyone for the successful celebration of Basant and wished the future teachers to have bright future. Kite flying competition was organized and student participated with full enthusiasm. Students enjoyed a lot.
Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign at Two Adopted Villages
As part of its community outreach program, NSS Cell of CT College of Education organized a Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign at its two adopted villages Nijjaran Village, Jalandhar and Lallian Kalan Village, Jalandhar on 29-01-2025. The campaign aimed to educate the villagers about the harmful effects of drug addiction and the preventive measures against HIV/AIDS. NSS volunteers participated actively in the initiative. Interactive sessions with villagers was conducted by volunteers. Volunteers also discussed the psychological and social impacts of drug abuse and encouraged youth to adopt healthy lifestyles.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
Co-Curricular Committee of CT College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Republic Day with great éclat on Jan. 25, 2024 at college premises. The event commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal CT College of Education followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The main attraction of Republic Day celebrations is singing a patriotic song, speech on freedom fighters, and dance on republic day theme by students. Some students were some very inspiring national songs sung in chorus. Patriotic dances were performed by students. The program ended with the message to create a great nation through collective efforts from all individual.
WORKSHOP ON MASTERING THE ART OF PROFESSIONAL NETWORK AND PERSONAL BRANDING
Placement Cell of CT College of Education organized Workshop on Mastering the Art of Professional Network and Personal Branding on 23-01-2025. The workshop aimed to equip participants with essential skills to build meaningful professional connections and establish a strong personal brand in today’s competitive environment. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Rishab Sharma, Deputy Director, HRDC, CT University, Ludhiana. He explained leveraging LinkedIn and other professional platforms, crafting an impactful personal narrative, elevator pitching, relationship-building etiquette, and maintaining a professional digital presence. The facilitator engaged participants through practical exercises, group discussions, and role-play activities, helping them understand how to project authenticity, confidence, and value in professional interactions.
Expert Lecture on Principles of Teaching and Qualities of Good Student During Internship
An Expert Lecture on “Principles of Teaching and Qualities of a Good Student” was organized by CT College of Education on 21-01-2025. The session aimed to enrich the knowledge and professional skills of the interns and to help them understand the essential attributes of effective teaching and learning. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Kebuya Nathaneil, Managing Director, HIPTEX University Institute Yaounde, Cameroon. The expert highlighted the fundamental principles of teaching, emphasizing the importance of planning, learner-centered approaches, effective communication, and evaluation in the teaching-learning process. The lecture also focused on the qualities of a good student, such as discipline, curiosity, punctuality, and a positive attitude toward learning. The session was highly interactive, with students actively participated in the discussion and shared their views.
NATIONAL MATHEMATICS DAY
CT College of Education celebrated National Mathematics Day on December 21, 2024 with great enthusiasm to honor the birth anniversary of the great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan and to promote interest in mathematics among students. The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting Ramanujan’s remarkable contributions to the field of mathematics and the importance of logical thinking in everyday life. As part of the celebration, students actively participated in a mathematics model preparation activity, where they creatively presented concepts such as geometric shapes, probability, algebraic formulas, and real-life applications of mathematics through innovative models. The event also featured engaging mathematics fun games, quizzes, and puzzles that encouraged critical thinking and teamwork. Students enthusiastically took part in these activities, making the learning process enjoyable and interactive. The celebration successfully created awareness about the beauty and significance of mathematics while fostering curiosity and analytical skills among students.
CLEANLINESS DRIVE ON THEME “YEH DIWALI MY BHARAT WALI”
The NSS Cell of CT College of Education organized a Cleanliness Drive on the theme “Yeh Diwali My Bharat Wali” on October 27, 2024 with the objective of promoting hygiene, social responsibility, and civic awareness during the festive season. The drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers who actively engaged in multiple community service activities. As part of the initiative, the volunteers visited a local hospital where they interacted with patients, distributed sweets and essentials, and spread awareness about maintaining cleanliness for better health. They also conducted a street cleanliness campaign in nearby areas, collecting waste, encouraging shopkeepers and residents to avoid littering, and promoting the use of eco-friendly materials during Diwali. In collaboration with the traffic police, the volunteers assisted in guiding the public about traffic rules and safety measures to ensure smooth and accident-free celebrations. They educated commuters about the importance of following traffic regulations, wearing helmets, and avoiding drunk driving. The drive successfully conveyed the message of celebrating a responsible, clean, and safe Diwali, truly reflecting the spirit of “Yeh Diwali My Bharat Wali.”

CT College of Education organized expert session on Health & Lifestyle on Sept. 27, 2026 to guide students on maintaining a balanced lifestyle amidst academic pressure and modern-day challenges. The session was conducted by Mr. Harminder Singh Dulowal, Asian Gold Medalist Vegetarian Body Builder & Health Ambassador of CT Group. The speaker emphasized the importance of consuming a nutritious and balanced diet that includes proteins, carbohydrates, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Students were advised to reduce junk food intake and increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables. Simple activities like walking, yoga, and stretching were recommended. The speaker discussed stress management techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, and maintaining a positive mindset. The session concluded with an interactive question and answer round where students actively participated and clarified their doubts regarding diet plans, fitness routines, and managing academic stress.
INDUCTION PROGRAM ‘AAGAZ 2024’
CT College of Education organized “AAGAZ 2025” on 18 September 2024 in the Multipurpose Hall to welcome the newly admitted B.Ed. students. CT College of Education hosted a Paper Bags and Craft Activity on 10th August, 2024 as part of its ongoing efforts to raise environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices. CT College of Education observed Anti-Ragging Day on 8 August, 2024 with great enthusiasm and awareness-building spirit. CT College of Education, Maqsudan in collaboration with PAHAL NGO, Jalandhar, organized Tree Planation Drive on August 07, 2024. The main aim of the drive is to spread awareness about forest conservation and saving environment. 200 saplings were planted inside the CTCE campus. Dr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions, PEHAL NGO members, Management, Principal, faculty members and students participated in this drive. College Campus Cleanliness Drive
NSS Cell of CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan organized a Campus Cleanliness Drive on 5th August 2024 under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiative. The main objective of the drive was to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental awareness among students and staff members. Extension Lecture on E-Waste Management
CT College of Education in collaboration with PEHAL NGO organized extension lecture on E- Waste Management on July 31, 2024. The program aimed to create awareness among students about the growing challenges of electronic waste and the importance of responsible disposal and recycling practices. Mr. Bipin Suman was the resource person for the same. The resource person explained that the rapid advancement of technology and frequent upgrading of gadgets have significantly increased the volume of e-waste worldwide. The lecture highlighted the harmful effects of improper disposal, as electronic devices contain toxic substances like lead, mercury, and cadmium that can contaminate soil, water, and air, posing serious health risks. The program concluded with an interactive session where students clarified their doubts and expressed their willingness to participate in future awareness campaigns and e-waste collection drives. The lecture proved to be highly informative and successful in promoting environmental responsibility among students.
SWACHHATA HI SEVA (SHS) CAMPAIGN
CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized cleanliness drive under “Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign” on October 3, 2023 as per the directives of MHRD, Government of India. The cleanliness campaign was initiated by the CCA Committee of the college in collaboration with NSS units of the college. B.Ed. Sem. 1 students participated in it with great enthusiasm. Students and staff participated in the cleanliness drive, and they removed garbage and cleaned the pathways in and around the MAQSUDAN Campus. The main aim of the cleaning drive was to make the people aware of the need to maintain the surroundings clean.

CT College of Education organized Induction Program on September 18, 2023 to welcome new freshmen in B.Ed. course session 2023-25. The major objective of the program was to make the students aware of the academic aspects of the course, the rules and regulations of the institution and ensuring parental participation in monitoring the performance and progress of students. CT College of Education, Jalandhar conducted a social initiative to help slum dwellers by providing them with food grains. B.Ed. students visited slum areas located around Dayanand Nagar in Jalandhar and distributed dry rations and stationary among the impoverished. MORNING ASSEMBLY ON THE THEME “DIWALI CELEBRATIONS”
CT College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Diwali on 8th November, 2023 at college premises. It started with a solemn prayer to the almighty and a beautiful thought that filled our hearts and minds with love and harmony. The students talked about the significance of the festival - how good always conquered the evil and also about why and how Diwali is celebrated across India. Besides sensitizing students about the ill-effects of crackers, they also shared the guidelines of environment-friendly options for celebrating Diwali. Graceful dance performances by students set the festive tone for the programme. It was followed by melodious song performances by students. Wonderful presentation of the assembly by the students instilled a sense of victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. The event was a great success and everyone enjoyed it for both its entertaining and informative values.
WORKSHOP ON GROUP DYNAMICS
CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized Workshop on Group Dynamics for B.Ed. students on November 15, 2023 at college Premises. Resource Pearson for the same was Mr. Rishab Sharma, Deputy Director, HRDC, CT University, Ludhiana. He gave a clear picture on understanding of group dynamics and the role it plays in teaching and learning.He discussed about the steps of group discussion and gave the tips with the help of activity. He explained the students to build trust, develop a sense of unity, and work together cohesively towards a shared objective. He divided the participants into two groups and each group had to present opinions over the given topic. He encouraged students to state opinions and speak up. The students actively participated and shared their thoughts on the same. This was followed by a very insightful activity. He further conducted an activity wherein he asked the students to participate in debate and conclude the views. The session came to an end and opened a new beginning of hope, desire and willingness amongst the students.
EXPERT LECTURE ON NEP 2020
CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized Expert Talk on ‘NEP-2020’ on November 21, 2023 at college premises. The resource person for the same was Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, DAV College, Jalandhar. She explained the NEP expectations of outcome based curriculum and also shed light on the implications of the same for students, teachers and school leaders. While analyzing the new education policy, its 4 objectives and challenges in implementation, she laid emphasis on the fact that with the quickly changing employment landscape and global ecosystem, it is becoming increasingly critical that students not only learn, but more importantly learn how to learn. She further elaborated as to why curriculum and pedagogy in schools and learning should be holistic, integrated, enjoyable and engaging. She further said that maximum possible students should be involved in co-curricular activities as such activities not only enrich knowledge of the students but also go a long way in having their contribution in nation building.Overall session was knowledgeable.
PARENT TEACHER MEETING
CT College of Education organized an Online Parents Teachers Meeting for B.Ed & M.Ed. on November 29, 2023. The main objective of the meeting was to create a common platform, where teachers and parents come together to discuss student’s performance and revise ways to enrich their learning experience. Parents became aware of the institute’s rules and regulations, methodologies of teaching & learning for the overall welfare of students. Parents were encouraged to appreciate student’s participation in all academic activities. Also feedback regarding their studies, health and performance were discussed with their parents. In this meeting the teachers and parents discussed about the area through which they improve their wards for the best result. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress and development of the students depend on the joint efforts of parents and teachers.
EXTENSION LECTURE ON AIDS AWARENESS
CT College of Education organized an extension lecture on AIDS Awareness on December 01, 2023 at college premises. Resource person for the same was Dr. Anita Rani, Block Mentor, Punjab Education Department, Jalandhar. She explained the importance of observing World AIDS Day every year. She explained worldwide statistics of HIV/AIDS, the mode of transmission, treatment, and availability of medical facilities to people living with HIV/AIDS. After the lecture, students took part in an interaction & cleared their misconception eg. ‘mosquito bite cannot spread HIV’, ‘close kiss cannot spread HIV’, ‘sharing cloths cannot spread HIV’ etc.The queries were answered by the speaker.Overall session was knowledgeable and fruitful for students.
POSTER MAKING AND SLOGAN WRITING ACTIVITY ON ‘WORLD AIDS DAY’
CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club organized an onPoster making and Slogan Writing Activity on ‘World AIDS Day’ on December 01, 2023 at college premises. All the students creatively wrote slogans and raise awareness about AIDS. One could see and feel the enthusiasm that the students had in their presentation. This activity kept the student engaged and it was organized to explore and encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills. It inspired them to think and work creatively in order to promote artistic excellence.
VISIT TO APAHAZ ASHRAM
CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar visited Apahaz Ashram under Field Engagement Program on December 04, 2023.This was a really great initiative that the organizations took to contribute their part to the world. All the students who registered for this were very enthusiastic and compassionate towards the cause. The students distributed fruits, clothes and biscuits among the inmates. On this occasion, the society head of Apahaz Ashram encouraged the students to participate in such noble ventures as he elaborated on the idea that education should not be limited to books but we should also understand the pain of those who are in need as we come forward to serve them. Students also prayed for their good health and recover.
TRIP TO THANA NATURE CAMP
CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized one day trip to Thana Nature Camp and Gagan Ji Ka Teela Temple on December09, 2023. In the Morning, visit was given to Gagan Ji ka Teela Temple where everyone had breakfast. The students enjoyed the view from the top of the temple. Gagan ji ka tilla, one of the most oldest Shiv Mandir in Punjab.Its height amongst theall temple in Punjab is more. It has more than 750 stairs. At temple especially students got an idea of how such a big temple is being managed and also about operation of several businesses in and around temple area. After that, students along with teachers visited Thana Nature Camp. At Jungle Lodge Thana Project, there are three lake facing wooden tents on the raised platform which offers breath taking view for the visitors. It has a fully wooden dining tent hall to relish the local cuisine. The camp offered boat ride in the lake areawhich gives a thrilling experience to the students. Experiences were indeed worth remembering and cherishing. Really, the tour was a memorable one for us.
CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL
CT College of Education organised the Christmas Carnival, ‘CT-FIESTA’ on December 16, 2023 to usher in the winter fervour. The carnival began at 10:00 a.m. The stalls were beautifully embellished to welcome the guests. The pompous spectacle included vibrant stalls encompassing aromatic Food stalls, Ferris-wheel, Gaming Car, Columbus, Music and Dance and Fun games like Tambola, Hit the Matka, Miraculous Seven, Chocolate Wheel, Frost and fire, Feeding the snowman, Xmas bling with a String, Aim the Christmassy Cone, Dashing through the Snow and Ring the Reindeer. All the game stalls were managed by teachers and students. The main attraction was Tambola where attractive gifts were won by the participants. Besides the games, ‘Lucky Dip’ and ‘Lucky Draw’ also captured the attention of the visitors in which they won gifts from the sponsors. The Chairman S. Charanjit Singh, Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh, Vice Chairperson S. Harpreet Singh, Director Dr. Chabbra, Principal Dr. Namesh Kumar, graced the event. The endeavors made by the students were highly appreciated by the Vice Chairperson under whose estimable guidance and ideas the school could put up a resplendent show. The Director asserted that the school has been a trailblazer in organising not only academic events, but also many productive extra- curricular activities so as to focus on all round development of the students.
WEBINAR ON ‘DEVELOPMENT OF LANGUAGE SKILLS AMONG STUDENTS
Language development is the process through which a student acquires the ability to process speech and communicate. Reading, writing, listening and speaking are four essential skills that comprise basic language competency. To enhance the language skills of B.Ed. & M.Ed. students a webinar was organized by Literary Club of CT College of Education organized Webinar on ‘Development of Language Skills Among Students’ on January 11, 2024. A resource person for the same was Ms. Rajwinder Kaur Sekhon, Assistant Professor at Khalsa College of Education, GT Road, Amritsar. During the extension lecture Ms. Rajwinder Kaur reflected upon the importance of reading, writing, and speaking the language. She also shared his thoughts about the importance of language and communication skills for expression and articulation of one’s ideas. Effective communication is an important life skill that enables the students to better understand and connect with the people around. She also shared that lack of effective communication inadvertently leads to conflict and frustration in both professional and personal relationships. She has provided guidance regarding topics like how to enhance vocabulary in any language, how to find good literature to read, and importance of writing to learn about language. She explained that choosing the right skills usually depends on various factors urgency of the message, the number of people targeted and whether it is a formal or informal communication. The session ended with feedback and the students asked questions regarding their future.
LOHRI CELEBRATION
Lohri- the festival which offers a panorama of our culture. To make this event a memorable one, CCA Committee of CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar celebrated Lohri on January 13, 2024 in the college premises. The day commemorated with immense joy, enthusiasm and magnificence. The programme kicked off with Lohri Poojan and litting the sacred bonfire. The function started with speeches highlighting the importance of the festival of Lohri, which ushers in the cheerful spring season bidding adieu to the winter. Immersed in rich cultural folklore of Punjab, melodious songs were presented by staff members. Students danced to the foot tapping Punjabi music to the fullest and presented melodious songs as a part of the celebrations. Groundnuts and sweets were also distributed among the students Overall it was a fun filled day for students. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION
India marks January 26 as its Republic Day every year. The new Indian constitution was sketched and approved by the Indian Constituent Assembly and decided to celebrate it on 26th of January every year as India became a republic country. The day was celebrated by CT College of Education, Jalandhar with great éclat on Jan. 25, 2024 at college premises. The main attraction of Republic Day celebrations is singing a patriotic song, speech on freedom fighters, and dance on republic day theme by students. Some students were some very inspiring national songs sung in chorus. Patriotic dances were performed by students. The program ended with the message to create a great nation through collective efforts from all individual.

Research and Innovation Cell of CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar in association with Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas organized a Webinar on Education for all: The key to Progressive Republic on January 27, 2024. Resource person for the same was Dr. Vinay Sophat, Associate Professor, R.K. Arya College of Education, Nawanshahr. He emphasised on fostering inclusion and awareness around multicultural education and taking a culturally responsive approach to teaching benefits all students. He elaborated that education can help girls to develop critical thinking skills, improve their economic prospects, and empower them to make informed life decisions. He explained that promotion of science along with the growth of moral values is necessary for human development. He explained that there are certain moral values, such as concern for people, empathy, and kindness that are important in setting research priorities in science and in determining the uses of science. There is a need to incorporate these humanitarian values into the science and technology spheres, while maintaining and reinforcing the intrinsic values of science. Overall, webinar was knowledgeable for students.

CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized workshop on Dynamics of job oriented description for B.Ed. students on 2 Feb, 2024 at college premises. Resource person for the same was Mr. Rishab Sharma, Deputy Director, HRDC, CT University, Ludhiana. He gave a clear picture on understanding of dynamics of job oriented description. He discussed how to describe your-self in job area. He discussed minute things which students have to focus while giving interview in job places or areas. He encouraged students to speak up with full confidence when you participated in job oriented interviews. Students actively participated and shared their queries on the same. This was very insightful session for students our students felt very confident and happy after the end of session. Overall session was good and knowledgeable for all.
WORLD CANCER DAY: AWARENESS RALLY
World Cancer Day is celebrated across the globe on 4th February. It aims to inculcate peoples’ compassion towards those fighting this life altering disease. Cancer awareness is the key to early detection and better health seeking behaviour. CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized a cancer awareness rally in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, Jalandhar on 5th February 2024 on the occasion of World Cancer Day. Dr. Namesh Kumar flagged off the rally, which aimed to encourage regular check-ups, dispel myths, and advocate for vaccinations where applicable. The rally started from CT College of Education, continued up to Maqsudan Chowk and ended at the college premises. Students carried placards with slogan to create awareness among public and they also shouted slogans to make people aware of danger of tobacco consumption in any form. Additionally, a street play was organized by college students to share empowering stories of battling cancer.
BASANT PANCHAMI CELEBRATION
Basant Panchami is the time that marks the preparation for the arrival of spring. Goddess Saraswati is worshipped during this auspicious day and symbolizes as the goddess of knowledge, language, music, arts, learning, speech, and wisdom. Vasant Panchami celebrations bring positive vibes, happiness, peace, prosperity. CCA committee of CT College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated Basant Panchmi on Feb. 13, 2024 with full vivacity and festival. The College was decorated with kites. A special programme was held on the occasion under the guidance of CCA Committee by organising various cultural programmes to mark the festival of spring. Program started by seeking blessings of Goddess Saraswati. Aneesh Pandey, student of B.Ed. 2nd semester presented speech on the importance of Basant Panchami and the historical background of this festival. Students presented poem recitation, singing, skit. Student participated made the event luminous and scintillating with their Bhangra and vibrant performances. Dr. Geetika congratulated everyone for the successful celebration of Basant and wished the future teachers to have bright future. Kite flying competition was organized and student participated with full enthusiasm. Students enjoyed a lot.
CONVOCATION 2024
To Celebrate the success of our students, the 9th Convocation of CT Institutions held on February 17, 2024 at Sardarni Manjit Kaur Auditorium, CT Institutions, Shahpur Campus, Jalandhar, Punjab. CT Group of Institutions conferring degrees upon over 1200 graduates from its Shahpur and Maqsudan campuses. LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, graced the event as chief guest. Addressing the gathering, MP Ashok Mittal while acknowledging the graduates’ dedication and enthusiasm, lauded the institution’s commitment to excellence. He urged the graduates to make significant contributions to society and highlighted the role of healthy competition in fostering personal and professional growth.
The convocation also saw the presence of over 50 doctorates who have been instrumental in shaping the educational landscape for the graduating students. National Science Day is celebrated every year on 28 February. This day recalls the notable invention “Raman Effect by India’s greatest scientist CV Raman. He was awarded the Nobel prize for this discovery. Since that day, Feb 28 is being commemorated as National Science Day to recall the great discovery of CV Raman. CT College of Education, Jalandhar also celebrated National Science day on 28 February, 2024 at college premises. B.Ed. students participated in different activities like poster making and model making. Students took different themes of science and made beautiful posters related to science and also made innovative working models through their creative ideas. Overall day was interesting and knowledgeable for all students.
COLORS 2024
Colors 2024 with boatload of new events is to tickle our senses and bring out the hidden talent in the students. This mega event at CT Group of Institutions aims to provide a battlefield for the best of the best. CT Group of Institutions hosted the vibrant extravaganza, COLORS 2024 Inter College Fiesta at its Maqsudan Campus. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 1700 students from various colleges in Jalandhar and its surrounding areas. The opening ceremony was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Sh. Inderbir Singh (IPS), DIG Punjab Armed Police, Jalandhar. His presence added an aura of authority and encouragement to the occasion. Mr. Kulwinder Bagga, Sarpanch Bolina Village, was honored as the Guest of Honor, further enhancing the event’s significance. The diverse talents of the students were showcased through a total 19 events, spanning creativity, technical and cultural domain. These events provided a platform for students to demonstrate their skills and innovative powers. Mehar Chand Polytechnic College, Jalandhar, stood out with outstanding performance and secured the Runner Up Trophy. The prestigious Overall Winner Trophy was claimed by KMV, Jalandhar, marking their exceptional achievements across events. The event reached its grand finale with the closing ceremony featuring Sh. Jassi Gill, a renowned Punjabi Singers, as a Chief Guest.
INTERACTIVE SESSION ON AI POWERED EDUCATION: SHAPING THE FUTURE OF LEARNING
AI in education aims to achieve optimal outcomes for students by combining the strengths of machines and teachers. AI in education has opened up new possibilities for learners of all ages. To acquaint the students with the concept of Artificial Intelligence, Research and Extension cell of CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized Interactive Session on ‘AI Powered Education: Shaping the Future of Learning’ on March 28, 2023 at college premises. The resource person for the same was Mr. Rohit Chatrath, Assistant Professor and ILETS trainer at CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar. He explained that AI has many functions in Education like AI-Powered Educational Games, Adaptive Learning Platforms, Automated Grading and Feedback Systems, Chatbots for Student Support, Intelligent Tutoring Systems etc. He specified that AI can grade papers and essays much faster than a human can and give teachers more time to work with students on critical thinking skills and critical analysis skills. Students’ queries were addressed and clarified by the resource persons. Overall, it was knowledgeable session.
MORNING ASSEMBLY ON WOMEN DAY
“A woman is a symbol of love, God’s finest and beautiful creation”. INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY is celebrated in the world over, every year on the 8th March. It celebrates womanhood and pays tribute to the indomitable spirit of women across the globe. To celebrate this occasion CT College of Education (B.Ed. & M.Ed.) organized a Morning Assembly on ‘International Women's Day’ on March 7, 2024. The program began with an invocation seeking God’s blessings through prayer. Students presented dance, poetry, drama, depicting the power of women and importance of women in the society. The significance of the day was given by the students highlighting the contribution of women through a Power point presentation and poems, thoughts on contribution of women in society.
POSTER MAKING AND SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION UNDER VOTER AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Voting is an integral part of democracy, and it is necessary for people to have a voice. By voting, we can create change and make a difference in our community. To create awareness among the students on voting, NSS committee of CT College of Education, Jalandhar in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, Jalandhar organized poster making competition, slogan writing competition on March 06, 2024. Theme for the poster making and slogan writing are Vote for Sure, Mera Pehla Vote Desh ke Leye. All B.Ed. & M.Ed. students earnestly participated and showcased their talents. This activity kept the student engaged and it was organized to explore and encourage creativity in students and offer them a platform to showcase their skills. They came up with amazing creativity.
VOTER AWARENESS RALLY

To create awareness among the students on voting, NSS committee of CT College of Education, Jalandhar in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club, Jalandhar organized Voter Awareness Rally on March 07, 2024. The Rally was organised under the supervision of Dr. Geetika, NSS Program Coordinator. B.Ed. and M.Ed. students participated in the rally. It was a great step to make the people aware about vote and election process in a democratic country. The rally started from CT College of Education, continued up to Maqsudan Chowk and ended at the college premises. Students carried placards with slogan to create awareness among public. It was a great experience of the students to interact with the masses on a very current and relevant topic of the subject. The campaign was ended with the vote of thanks by the chair to the incharges and the students.
15TH CT HALF MARATHON: VOTE KAR BEFIKAR
CT Group of Institutions organized 15th CT Half Marathon: Vote Kar Befikar on March 10, 2024 at 6:00 am onwards with the objective to raise the funds for Apahaz Ashram and Prayas Special School, Jalandhar. Hundreds participated in the 15th CT Half Marathon. Old Marathon Runner Fauja Singh, Punjabi singer Yuvraj Singh, Zora Randhawa, S. Charanjit Singh Channi ji (Chairman CT Group), Dr. Manbir Singh (MD, CT Group), S. Harpreet Singh (VC, CT Group) and other prestigious personalities flagged off the race from CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus. The first prize was Rs. 25,000 (Male and Female both), second prize was Rs. 11,000( Male & Female both), third prize was Rs. 5100 (Male & Female both). Various celebrities namely Singga, Zora Randhawa, Pak Pak Deepak, Yuvraj Hans, Jassi Gill, Harsh Verma entertained the audience. The Marathon was finished at Maqsudan Campus where B.Ed. and M.Ed. students welcome the participants at the end point.
INTERACTIVE SESSION ON INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES AMONG STUDENTS
Individual differences indicate all physical, emotional, cognitive, psychological differences which in totality make an individual a unique person in the world. To acquaint the students with the concept of individual differences among students, Guidance and Counselling cell of CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized Interactive session on Individual differences among students on April 11, 2024. Resource person for the same was Ms. Monika Singh, Counsellor. She elaborated that it is important for teachers to know variables such as physical characteristics, intelligence, perception, gender, ability, learning styles, which are individual differences of the learners. She explained that an effective and productive learning-teaching process can be planned by considering these individual differences of the students. She also explained that teachers should be aware that each student has unique strengths, weaknesses, learning styles, and needs. By recognizing these individual differences, teachers can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that accommodates each student's needs. Students’ queries were addressed and clarified by the resource persons. Overall, it was knowledgeable session.
INTERACTIVE SESSION ON MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS
Mental health awareness is an important issue for all educators, who are often the first line of defence for their students. To aware the students with the concept of mental health among students, Guidance and Counselling cell of CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized Interactive session on Mental Health Awareness on March 19, 2024. Resource person for the same was Ms. Monika Singh, Counsellor. The theme of this interactive session was to create awareness about mental health. The resource person delved into crucial topics such as anxiety, and depression, dispelling commonly held myths surrounding mental health. The session concluded with a strong emphasis on the importance of prioritizing mental health fitness alongside physical health. The resource person underscored the need for heightened awareness and encouraged participants to be more attentive to their mental well-being. The session successfully dispelled prevalent myths and misconceptions surrounding mental health, fostering an enhanced understanding of the causes and symptoms of mental illness among the attendees. Students’ queries were addressed and clarified by the resource persons. Overall, it was knowledgeable session.
HOLI CELEBRATION
Holi, the festival of evil removing and sharing the joy of life with one another. Keeping this in mind, CT College of Education, Jalandhar celebrated this event with students and team members on March 23, 2024 at college premises. The event started with special dance performances based on certain themes. Students presented poem recitation, singing. Astha, student of B.Ed. 4th semester presented speech on the importance of Holi and the historical background of this festival. The main highlight of the event commenced with the playful splashing of colours. Students joyfully smeared each other with vibrant herbal gulal (coloured powder), spreading laughter and cheerfulness throughout the campus. College has been centrally arranging such function for students to generate feeling of togetherness in a discipline manner. It incorporated so much fun on the college campus.
M.ED. SYNOPSIS PRESENTATION
Synopsis is to be considered as a detailed summary of the work with important results highlighting the original contributions in the dissertation to be submitted. The review of earlier work is to be minimized with just enough to highlight the contributions in the research work to be reported in the dissertation. M.Ed. department of CT College of Education, Jalandhar conducts M.Ed. Synopsis Presentation, stimulating academic dialogue and cultivating the intellectual pursuits of M.Ed. Sem. II students on March 23, 2024 at college premises. All M.Ed. Sem. II students drafted synopsis in consultation with supervisor and got it approved from them within the period as specified. After that, students made oral presentation of their synopsis work under the guidance of their respective supervisors. All students presented very well and elaborated the content of synopsis. Research Panel members gave them suggestions regarding content of synopsis. Students incorporated the necessary changes and submitted the new synopsis duly approved by the research supervisor.
MORING ASSEMBLY ON BAISAKHI CELEBRATION
Baisakhi or Vaisakhi, the harvest festival, is celebrated with great enthusiasm to mark the beginning of the new spring and is celebrated in most of India. To imbibe in students the ethos, values of every culture and to make students aware of the spring harvest festival in all its essence, CT College of Education, Jalandhar organised morning assembly to celebrate Baishakhi on April 13, 2024. The program began with an invocation seeking God’s blessings through prayer. Students presented dance, poetry, speeches, depicting the culture of Punjab. The event witnessed an array of performances by students, including Bhangra dance, Punjabi folk dance, and poetry recitation. It was heartening to see the staff and students come together to enjoy the festivities and immerse themselves in the rich culture of Punjab. The students were overwhelmed and enjoyed the day.
COFFEE WITH CHAIRMAN: AN INTERACTIVE SESSION
CT College of Education organized Coffee with Chairman: An Interactive Session on May 04, 2024 at college premises. In this session, Honourable Chairman of CT Group, S. Charanjit Singh Channi interacted with B.Ed. & M.Ed. Students. The session was focused on the story of the successful innovator with the aim to inspire and motivate students for their Career. The programme was initiated with the floral welcome of the Chairman Sir by Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal of College. He enlightened the students about the needs of staying positive in life. He interacted with students and told them the benefits of keeping calm and positive in life. He gave ideas and suggestions to students how to convert a negative emotion to positive. The session was really interactive. The lecture was followed by questions from the students where they asked their queries. Students enjoyed discussing their problems with him and got really motivating solutions.
PARENT-TEACHER MEETING (PTM)
On July 15, 2024, CT College of Education, Maqsudan, hosted a Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) to foster communication between parents and teachers, provide updates on students' progress, and discuss ways to enhance the educational experience. The meeting was attended by a significant number of parents, teachers, and administrative staff, reflecting the strong commitment of the college community to the students' holistic development. The PTM began with a welcome address by the Principal, who emphasized the importance of parent-teacher collaboration in achieving educational success. This was followed by a presentation on the academic performance of students, highlighting key achievements and areas where additional efforts were needed. It was a successful event that achieved its objectives and fostered a stronger partnership between parents and teachers. The collaborative efforts discussed during the meeting are expected to positively impact students' academic and social development in the coming months.
ONLINE WORKSHOP ON MICRO LESSON PLANNING
In order to equip the students with the micro teaching skills, two days Online Workshop was organized by Teaching Practice Cell Committee of CT College of Education for students of B.Ed. on Monday and Tuesday, 24/6/2024 to 25/6/2024. Resource person for the same was Dr. Anjali Arora, Assistant Professor, DD Jain College of Education, Ludhiana. During online workshop, Dr. Anjali Arora explained that Micro Teaching is teaching training technique. She explained that it is scale down teaching in which class size, duration of period, size of content and teaching skill is reduced. She elaborated the meaning of micro teaching skills as well as skill of introducing and skill of questioning. She explained three skills of micro teaching i.e. Skill of Explanation, Skill of Chalkboard writing, Skill of Stimulus Variation. After each session, there was a question and answers round where the student asked questions regarding micro teaching skill components to which the speaker replied and cleared the doubt of the students. The faculties also actively participated in this round by sharing their knowledge on micro teaching lesson plans. The workshop was concluded by a vote of thanks. Overall workshop was knowledgeable and fruitful for students.
ONLINE WORKSHOP ON HERBARTIAN LESSON AND ICT BASED LESSON PLAN
Online Workshop was organized by Teaching Practice Cell of CT College of Education for students of B.Ed. on 26/6/2024. Resource person was Dr. Jasdeep Kaur, Assistant Professor, DD Jain College of Education, Ludhiana. During the online Workshop Dr. Jasdeep Kaur elaborated the lesson planning. She explained that Herbartian lesson planning is a systematic approach to lesson planning that follows a structured format. It is based on the principles of Johann Friedrich Herbart, a German philosopher and educator. The approach is designed to ensure that learning is logical, sequential, and effective, with each stage building on the previous one. Moreover, she explained that ICT (Information and Communication Technology) lesson planning refers to the process of creating a detailed plan or outline for teaching students about ICT concepts, skills, and tools. ICT lesson planning involves setting learning objectives, selecting appropriate resources and activities, and sequencing them to achieve those objectives. Dr. Jasdeep Kaur also share the sample of Herbartian lesson plan and ICT based lesson plan. After session, there was a question and answers round where students asked questions regarding lesson planning to which the speaker replied and cleared the doubts of the students. The faculties also actively participated in this round by sharing their knowledge on lesson plans.
ONLINE WORKSHOP ON CONCEPT ATTAINMENT MODEL
One day Online Workshop on Concept Attainment Model was organized by Teaching Practice Cell of CT College of Education for B.Ed. students on 27/6/2024. Resource person for the same was Dr. Geeta Kundi, Assistant Professor, GHG Harparkash College of Education for Women, Ludhiana. The workshop was organized with the aim of providing educators with effective strategies for teaching and enhancing students' understanding of various concepts. Dr. Geeta Kundi explained that model was developed by Jerome Bruner and gave a detailed knowledge about its steps and application. She explained that educators gained valuable insights into this innovative teaching approach, learning how to facilitate critical thinking and conceptual understanding. Dr. Kundi's expert guidance enabled participants to develop practical skills in designing engaging lessons. With renewed enthusiasm and a fresh perspective, participants were equipped to implement the Concept Attainment Model, enhancing student learning outcomes. Students also interacted with the resource person during the workshop and asked many questions from the topic. The workshop on the Concept Attainment Model successfully met its objectives, providing educators with valuable tools and strategies to enhance their teaching.
ONLINE WORKSHOP ON ADVANCE ORGANIZER MODEL
Teaching Practice Cell of CT College of Education has organized an Online workshop on Advance Organizer Model of Teaching for B.Ed. students on 28/6/2024. Resource person for the same was Dr. Jasleen Kaur, Assistant Professor, G.H.G Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sadhar, Ludhiana. Dr. Jasleen Kaur had explained that Advance Organizer Model of Teaching is an instructional design approach developed by David Ausubel and it is a strategy that helps students organize and connect new information to their existing knowledge and understanding. She also elaborated that it is a tool or technique that helps students organize and structure the new information. The workshop included interactive sessions, group discussions, and hands-on activities, allowing students to share experiences and gain insights from peers. Moreover, resource person had shared some samples of Advance Organizer Model. In the end of the session, there was a question and answers round where the students asked questions regarding lesson planning to which the speaker replied and cleared the doubt of the students. The faculties also actively participated in this round by sharing their knowledge on lesson plans. Students left with a renewed enthusiasm for teaching and a valuable toolkit to enhance learning experiences.
‘EK PED MAA KE NAAM’ CAMPAIGN
Planting a tree for the one who rooted us in life. With the aim of spreading awareness about forest conservation and saving environment NSS Cell of CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized tree plantation drive under "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign. All Faculty members and NSS volunteers participated in this drive. Students came to the site with their teachers as per the schedule and planted the trees. Dr. Anju Sharma, Principal CTCE created awareness on the importance of planting trees and fruit plants which increases the green cover, rejuvenates degraded forests and ensures more effective protection of forests and intensive soil and moisture conservation and also advised to plant at least one tree as a token of gratitude to our mother Earth.
ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR B.ED. SEM. III AND M.ED. SEM. III
CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized Orientation Programme for B.Ed. Sem. III and M.Ed. Sem. III on July 22, 2024 to familiarise students with the academic programs, school internship programme and evaluation process. The students were welcomed on the day by Dr. Geetika, HOD (M.Ed.). She provided the information about M.Ed. curriculum, activities, internship program of M.Ed. Sem. III. She also briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the institute and requested the students to understand and abide by the college rules and norms. Ms. Kiran, Teaching Practice Incharge provided the comprehensive information of school internship program. She explained the students about various field engagement activities to be done during internship program. She elaborated the syllabus of B.Ed. Sem. III and different kind of lesson plans to be written in files. There was an interactive session between students and Teaching Practice Incharge, where students clear their doubts related to internship program. The session provided a comprehensive overview of academic regulations, activities during school internship, and field engagement activities, lesson planning to enhance their educational experience.
EXTENSION LECTURE ON E-WASTE MANAGEMENT
Eco Club of CT College of Education, North Campus, Maqsudan, in collaboration with PAHAL NGO, Jalandhar, organized an extension lecture on E-Waste Management. The extension lecture aimed at raising awareness about the proper disposal and recycling of electronic waste. Experts from the field shared valuable information, emphasizing the environmental impacts of e-waste and the importance of sustainable practices. This initiative reflects our commitment to environmental conservation and responsible waste management.
CAMPUS CLEANLINESS DRIVE
Clean environment is an indicator of progress of human being and with the motto of clean environment, NSS Cell of CT College of Education, Jalandhar organized Campus Cleanliness Drive on August, 2024. The program was inaugurated by NSS Program Coordinator. NSS volunteers participated and cleaned the different areas of the college campus, including classrooms, corridors, gardens and common areas. Also, students collected degradable and non-degradable solid waste. The concerned efforts of students resulted in a noticeable improvement in the cleanliness and overall aesthetic appeal of the college campus.
GO GREEN TREE PLANATION DRIVE
CT College of Education, Maqsudan in collaboration with PAHAL NGO, Jalandhar, organized Tree Planation Drive. The main aim of the drive is to spread awareness about forest conservation and saving environment. 200 saplings were planted inside the CTCE campus. Dr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director CT Group, PEHAL NGO members, Management, Principal, faculty members and students participated in this drive. This initiative reflects our commitment to environmental conservation and responsible citizen.
POSTER MAKING AND SLOGAN WRITING ACTIVITY ON ANTI RAGGING
To sensitize the students against the evils of ragging and to spread positive vibes among the students in the college premises, CT College of Education, Maqsudan, Jalandhar organized Poster Making Competition and slogan writing competition on theme of “Ragging free Campus” on August 08, 2024 at college premises. The aim of the event was to get students an imprint of how ragging is a crime and may lend them in legal convicts. B.Ed. Sem. III students enthusiastically participated in the competition and exhibited their creative ideas on the theme.
BEST OUT OF WASTE ACTIVITY
In order to make students aware about the uses of waste material, CT College of Education in collaboration with Pidilite Industries Ltd. organized ‘Best out of waste’ activity on August 10, 2024. Ms. Navdeep Kaur, Fevicryl certified expert was the resource person for the same. She demonstrated creative and innovative models and art items from different waste materials. Students used reusable and recyclable materials like newspapers, shoe boxes, bangles, ice cream sticks, and much more. The values like preservation, recycling, conservation, reduction, reuse, etc. are imbibed into the students’ heart and minds by demonstrating this noble act of caring for our environment.
